You can make a difference for those who have lost their homes in Ukraine

Meet Sergiy Lysak, and the team

Sergiy with the generous help of other ministries around the world like” The glow mission” and countless people just like you, have allowed for the installation of 324 tiny homes for Ukrainian elderly and families who have lost everything.

What we do

With More than 1.5 million homes destroyed during the war in Ukraine. Here in New Zealand, we know the importance of a place to call home, to feel warm and secure, there is a creative solution that is manufactured right in Ukraine that helps both the Ukrainian economy and offers shelter— a sense of home.

Throughout Ukraine, residential houses have been bombed and left in ruins. Sergiy and his team are dedicated to the rebuilding of the country. They are working in areas that are not currently affected by the war, focusing on repairing roofs, windows, and other structural needs to provide proper shelter from the elements. Their efforts aim to restore hope for Ukrainian families and strengthen their faith in humanity.

All funds given to this project fund will go towards building micro homes, giving hope where there seems none providing shelter and warmth and community.

Who we are

Viktoriia and Sergiy Lysak
Founders

Our story begins with volunteering. After the full-scale invasion began, we (Viktoriia and Sergiy) made the decision to stay in the country, and together with a group of like-minded people, we began to help people, attracting personal connections who wanted to help the Ukrainian people. Food and medicine, sleeping bags and mats, hugs and words of support for people hiding in the subway from constant bombing; clothing, footwear and food products for territorial defense of Kyiv; medicines, hygiene products and baby food to medical institutions – became the first steps on the way to our mission. Thanks to this, we were at the epicenter of events, and immediately after the de-occupation of the Kyiv region, we became one of the first to participate in the restoration of destroyed housing. Already in May 2022, thanks to partners and sponsors, we delivered the first modular houses to victims in the Kyiv region. At the moment, we have expanded our activities to the Kherson and Kharkiv regions.

My name is Kent Galpin, and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am happily married with two adult children. I have always been interested in military history, and through that passion, along with my hobby of painting military miniatures, I have made connections with people around the world. While studying war for my hobby, I have come to understand the horrors it brings.

So, why the Ukraine project? At a conference, I had the opportunity to hear Sergiy speak about his experiences, and his story deeply moved me. As a tear ran down my face, my wife leaned over and said, “You know you have to do something.” Although I am on the other side of the world, I believe in taking action. I have always believed that doing nothing achieves nothing. By taking a step of faith, I know anything is possible with God’s help. So, I’ve decided to take this step, and I am excited to see what happens.
